Crossmark Policy
International Journal of Social Sciences – Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan University (IJSS-SJAU) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, transparency, and permanence of the scholarly record. The journal participates in the Crossmark service to provide readers with information about the current status of published articles and to make significant post-publication changes visible to readers.
Crossmark enables readers to determine whether an article has been corrected, updated, retracted, withdrawn, or otherwise subject to a significant post-publication change. The Crossmark information may also provide additional publication information associated with the article.
Corrections and Updates
IJSS-SJAU distinguishes between minor editorial changes and significant post-publication updates. Minor corrections, such as typographical, spelling, or formatting errors that do not affect the meaning, interpretation, authorship, or scholarly record, may be corrected without issuing a formal Crossmark update.
Significant changes that may affect the interpretation, attribution, credibility, or scholarly use of an article will be formally documented. Where appropriate, IJSS-SJAU will publish a separate correction, corrigendum, addendum, expression of concern, or other appropriate notice and register the relevant update with Crossref. Crossref recommends using a separate notice with its own DOI for editorially significant updates rather than obscuring the scholarly record by silently replacing the original article.
Retractions
An article may be retracted when its findings are determined to be unreliable or when serious ethical, legal, or publication-integrity concerns arise. Retraction decisions will be handled in accordance with recognized publication-ethics principles and will be clearly communicated to readers.
When an article is retracted, IJSS-SJAU will maintain an appropriate record of the original publication while clearly indicating its retracted status. A formal retraction notice will be published where appropriate, and the relationship between the original article and the retraction notice will be registered with Crossref.
Withdrawal
In exceptional circumstances, an article may be withdrawn, for example because of serious legal, ethical, or publishing concerns. Any withdrawal will be documented transparently, and the journal will provide an appropriate notice explaining the reason for the withdrawal whenever possible.
Permanence of the Scholarly Record
IJSS-SJAU does not ordinarily remove published articles from the scholarly record. When a published article requires a significant correction or retraction, the journal will preserve the publication record and provide an appropriate notice explaining the change. This approach enables readers and researchers to understand the publication history of the work.
Reporting Concerns
Readers, authors, reviewers, and researchers who identify a potential error, ethical concern, plagiarism issue, data problem, or other significant issue concerning an IJSS-SJAU publication should contact the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Office through the journal's official contact channels.
The journal will assess reported concerns and, where necessary, investigate them in accordance with its publication-ethics procedures.
Crossmark Button
For articles participating in Crossmark, the Crossmark button will be displayed on the article's online landing page and, where technically implemented, in the article's PDF. The button allows readers to check the current status of the publication. Crossref requires participating publishers to apply Crossmark consistently to current content rather than only to articles that have already been updated.
IJSS-SJAU will use the official Crossmark implementation provided by Crossref and will not modify the Crossmark logo or its proportions.
Additional Information
Where applicable, Crossmark information may include additional publication metadata, such as publication dates, peer-review information, licensing information, or other relevant editorial information.
